Reattach a shower door handle or bracket to glass: Step by Step

  1. Support the bottom of the glass shower door with wooden shims or folded towels so it cannot flex or drop during repair.
  2. Scrape old soap scum, limescale, and degraded sealant off the glass mounting area with a razor scraper, then degrease thoroughly with rubbing alcohol.
  3. Clean the stainless steel handle bracket plate and ensure all clear protective rubber or nylon gaskets are positioned properly.
  4. Apply mixed waterproof 2-part structural epoxy evenly onto the bracket mounting base (or neutral silicone for gasketed clamp mounts).
  5. Position the handle onto the glass, secure with heavy-duty blue painter's tape or a glass suction clamp, and let cure undisturbed for a full 24 to 48 hours before use.
