- No poroso e impermeable. Las colas al agua (cola blanca) no funcionan en absoluto. Exige desengrasar minuciosamente y lijar con grano medio/grueso para crear anclaje mecánico para el epoxi o el cianoacrilato.
- Superficie no porosa y químicamente inerte. Requiere desengrasar a fondo con alcohol isopropílico. El epoxi transparente, el cianoacrilato o las siliconas neutras para vidrio son las mejores opciones.

Cómo hacerlo
Volver a pegar el retrovisor interior al parabrisas: paso a paso
- Separa la plaquita metálica de la base del espejo retrovisor.
- Raspa los restos de pegamento viejo del cristal y del metal con una cuchilla, y limpia con alcohol.
- Aplica el activador/imprimador en el cristal y espera 2 minutos.
- Aplica una gota de adhesivo en la placa metálica y presiona contra el cristal 1 minuto sin moverte.
- Espera al menos 30 minutos antes de colgar el espejo en la placa.

- Why do I have to detach the metal button from the mirror before gluing?
- A complete rearview mirror assembly is heavy and acts as a long mechanical lever. If you try to glue the whole mirror, the weight pulls the wet joint loose immediately. Gluing only the lightweight metal button ensures full, undisturbed chemical bonding.
- Why does standard super glue keep falling off the windshield?
- Glass and steel expand at significantly different thermal rates. In direct sun, windshield temperatures fluctuate by over 100°F (38°C). Rigid cyanoacrylate cannot accommodate this movement and shatters under heat shock and daily vibration.
- What if the old mirror tore off a small divot of glass from the windshield?
- If a small surface divot is missing, position the metal button slightly (1/4 to 1/2 inch) away from the damaged crater on sound glass, or fill the crater with windshield repair resin before gluing. Never glue directly inside a deep divot as it will not hold.
- What temperature is best for gluing a rearview mirror?
- Perform the repair in shaded, dry conditions between 60°F and 85°F (15°C to 29°C). If it is freezing outside, gently warm the windshield with your car defroster on low heat before cleaning and applying adhesive.
